With over 30 years of expertise in the hospitality industry, Ian Fleming owns the successful and award winning Lake of Menteith Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland, which has been modelled directly on the Eastern Shore.
Following its demise Ian restored that great Glasgow icon, The Buttery Restaurant to its former glory as Scotland's Restaurant of The Year in 2004.
In 2008 Ian launched a new Champagne Bar and Seafood small plates Restaurant in Glasgow.
In 2008 Ian partnered with Allience Hotels in the redevelopement and relaunch of a Stirling Townhouse Hotel, The Terraces.
When not at The Robert Morris Inn in Maryland Ian is likely to found at work in The Lake of Menteith, with private clients, fishing, boating or walking.
Ian Fleming was General Manager at The Inn at Perry Cabin in the early 1990's for several years and returned regularly to the region after, both for vacations and also to bring journalists and chefs from the UK for Food & Wine Festivals. He and Mark worked together at both Cromlix House in Scotland and The Inn at Perry Cabin. He has been most fortunate to have been involved in operating and developing some magnificent properties throughout his career and he has personally looked after many celebrities and heads of state including the Thatcher family on many occasions, President of Zaire, King Hussein of Jordan, Rothschild Family, Kevin Costner, Larry King and in more recent years in his own properties Britney Spears, the Cranberries, David McCallum, Ashley Judd and many others.
